At Dr Tom Cerni’s practice, we understand that navigating therapy, supervision, and mentoring can raise some questions. Our Frequently Asked Questions section is here to provide clear answers about our services, approach, and how we can best support your personal and professional growth.

HOW LONG ARE YOUR SESSIONS?

Our therapy sessions typically last 1 to 2 hours, depending on individual needs and treatment plans.

HOW LONG DO I NEED THERAPY FOR?

The length of your therapy journey varies based on several factors, including:
Your presenting issue(s)
Expected outcomes
Personal progress

Under the current Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP), you are eligible for up to ten sessions per calendar year.

DO YOU HAVE A CANCELLATION POLICY?

We kindly request at least 48 hours notice for appointment cancellations. Last-minute cancellations within this timeframe may incur a Cancellation Fee.

WHAT IF I SEE MY THERAPIST IN PUBLIC?

If you encounter your therapist in public, you’re welcome to acknowledge them as you would any acquaintance. However, you are not expected to engage in conversation or discuss therapy-related matters.

HOW IS PAYMENT MADE?

We currently issue a tax invoice for each session. Payment is accepted via Direct Deposit to our designated account.

DO YOU HAVE PARKING?
On-street parking is available near our practice for your convenience.
